What this is
An unofficial constituent-facing companion to the 22-policy platform that the Mayor was elected on. Every initiative on this site is scraped directly from the source (zohranfornyc.com/platform) and links back to its primary record. Modeled outcomes (childcare savings, rent freeze math, neighborhood-level impact) are based on publicly cited ACS 5-year estimates and NYC HCR rent-stabilization data.
This is not an authoritative impact estimate. It is a translation layer. The numbers exist to help a New Yorker decide whether a stated policy plausibly affects them, where to read further, and where to engage.
What's modeled
- Childcare savings: household out-of-pocket avoided, at ~$25,000/yr per child age 0–5 (NYC center average).
- Rent freeze savings: vs a counterfactual ~3%/yr Rent Guidelines Board increase, compounded over four years on stabilized stock.
- Pre-K / 3-K equivalent value: public-school equivalent value per school-age kid in the household.
- Free buses: annual bus fares avoided, scaled by commute mode.
- $30/hr minimum wage: wage delta × 35hr/wk × 50 weeks for households below the target.
- Neighborhood impact: populations of children 0–5, rent-stabilized share, median rent and household income for ZIPs in the dataset.
Real outcomes depend on Albany, the Council, the courts, and labor-market supply. None of which this site models.
